The Kaam 50
The fifty companies most worth an Indian jobseeker's attention in 2026.
Read the full methodology
The Kaam 50 ranks the fifty companies that most deserve an Indian jobseeker's attention in 2026. Every company is scored on its India operations only, so a foreign company's India centre is judged on the work it actually does here. Six weighted factors, out of 100. Scale of Indian hiring, 25 points: how many people the company takes on in India each year, weighted towards entry level, measured from company filings and results announcements rather than press estimates. Quality of training, 20 points: whether a new joiner is taught something structured, whether the programme is published and currently running, and whether the skill is portable to another employer. Where you go next, 15 points: what the name does for you on a CV, and where alumni end up. Pay, 15 points: compensation against the Indian median for the same role elsewhere. Stability, 10 points: financial health and whether the company held its people through the last two downturns. Open door, 15 points: whether people from tier-two and tier-three colleges, ITI and diploma holders, women returning from a break, and career switchers actually get in, judged on published entry criteria rather than diversity statements. Two rules shape the spread. No more than fifteen of the fifty may be technology companies, because technology is a small share of Indian formal employment and a much larger share of career advice. Every sector that employs Indians at scale must appear, so manufacturing, banking, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, public sector, retail, hospitality, aviation, textiles and logistics all have entries. Where a company's own filings and press reports disagree on headcount, the filing wins, and worker counts are read separately from employee counts because Indian companies report them separately and the worker row is the shop floor. Ranking is reviewed every six months, because fresher intake in particular swings hard from year to year.
